The location, rear entrance was right on the beach and also easy access to the town centre from the front entrance. It is pretty much next to the Freddy Mercury musesum. We stayed in room 27, a beautiful junior suite that looked over the ocean. We only ate breakfast there but the choice was plentyful & tasted great, they have a crepe & omelette station made fresh while you wait. We also liked that while the building was renovated to modern standards they had kept the style to an authentic tradition - big chunky futniture & doorways.

The manager Abdul Aziz was very accommodating and even checked in on me and my family every morning at breakfast. He and the other staff t Tembo were excellent and delivered high quality service. The hotel itself is ideally located in old town and you can easily walk to the local market, the old fort, the palace museum and a lot of great eating spots. Additionally you can easily take a boat from the beach to Prison Island.
